Tour of szeklerland 2024

A multi-stage road cycling race, the Szekler Tour is a representative competition, not only in Eastern Europe, but also in the whole of Europe. Founders Eduard Novák and Róbert Ráduly organized the first edition in 2006 as a regional competition, but soon, the Szekler Tour received an international qualification, so that in 2008 it became the first cycling competition in Romania of UCI category 2.2. In the same year, the Romanian Cycling Tour entered the same category, but the role of the pioneer was given to the Szekler Tour.

The center of the competition was for a long time Miercurea Ciuc, the competition being a star race. This organizational system changed starting with 2016, when the first stages were held in Sfântu Gheorghe. Starting with 2021, the municipality of Târgu Mureș and Mureș County also take part in the competition, thus encompassing the entire historical territory of the Szekler Land.
