Where?
The start and finish will take place in the courtyard of the "Cai de Vis" estate, in the village of Vârful Câmpului, Botosani County.
The start and finish will be common for both the short and long laps.
Who is it addressed to?
The marathon is aimed at all cycling enthusiasts eager to escape from everyday life, leave the paved roads and venture into the forest on paths and roads that can create physical endurance, skill and orientation problems.
Participation in this marathon is done by responsible people who must know their level of training.
Required equipment:
A mountain or trekking bike for competition should be equipped with front suspension and carefully checked for frame welding and components in general. The braking system must function flawlessly.
Competitors will be required to wear a protective helmet.
In the short tour, you can compete with any type of bicycle in good working condition. The short tour will be approximately 30 km.
For the long tour, a mountain bike in good working order is mandatory. The long tour will be approximately 50 km.
We recommend light clothing, gloves, sunglasses with UV protection. For the bike, it's good to have a water bottle, a light raincoat, a compact pump, a chain press, a set of light levers, and a spare bicycle tube.
The route is mixed, crossing public roads, forest roads, marked and unmarked paths, rugged areas, slopes with different degrees of inclination, forest areas, towns, meadows, etc. These characteristics imply minimal experience in outdoor cycling tours, respectively MTB, on the part of the competitors who show up at the start.
The organizers will ensure timely, correct and complete information on the competition website; visible marking of the route with tape, signs, paint/lime; information points at the start and finish; supply points (at the same time control points) with water and food; intervention and recovery team in case of getting lost and accident. The organizers are exempt from liability if during the race, persons other than the organizing team damage the guidance markings on the route.
The route contains, especially on the long lap, (as an attraction factor) several sections of great difficulty which will be properly signaled and notified before the start. Competitors are required to adapt to these appropriately, being fully responsible for their own safety.
Travel, accommodation, meals and technical assistance will be entirely the responsibility of the competitors. The organizers can only make suggestions regarding these aspects. Sponsors in the field may provide technical assistance for a fee. Deterioration of the bike on the route does not imply the responsibility of the organizers.
